I will always remember that even though she was battling in her own life, she took the time to help me deal with my mom and what my mom was battling. Anne was beloved by so many of us at Blue Cross, and having her as a friend, mentor, and colleague was one of the greatest privileges of my life. Knowing that surfing conditions were prime, Anne (Sullivan) Palmer, her sons, and their friends raced down to a Scituate, Massachusetts beach to catch as many waves as they could before a thunderstorm rolled through. She often said cancer had been a blessing because it introduced her to people she wouldn’t have met otherwise and allowed her to inspire others. In January of 2013, she skateboarded for 24 straight hours on a NASCAR track, pushing through the night and praying for all those she and her family knew afflicted with cancer. I had the pleasure of getting to know her better at several community volunteer events, for which I am thankful. My only regret is that I did not have a chance to meet her in person other than in passing and saying hello. I am greatful that we shared a cousins weekend on the Cape almost three years ago. The world has lost a wonderful person and Heaven has gained a new angel. Thank you for bringing the entire family together and helping me meet so many great people. I am so sorry for your loss.
