The bill arrived and the small spritzer which was served without ice and a bit of not-even-fizzy soda water was £7( the most expensive on the menu). England Wales - very busy but food and service were fantastic. We will not be trying again. They could not fit us in and it was Mother's Day so it was difficult to find an alternative at short notice. It's everything a pub should be: Unpretentious, charming, welcoming with a lovely relaxed atmosphere. I just wish they could move this restaurant to london. The food was basic but satisfied our needs. Thanks! OpenTable is part of Booking Holdings, the world leader in online travel and related services. Sometimes, I am wondering whether they will make it. !More, Hi There A chicken escalope was slightly bland; it came with superb chips and fairly tired rocket.I'd go back, as it's promising. We went for dinner this time with our parents and was very disappointed at the service and quality of food. Kids were very excited but upon arrival we were told bluntly that no table was booked at all, despite having it confirmed days prior over the phone. I would therefore not recommend this restaurant. We were staying locally so took a 5 min walk to the pub..took some games down to play which they didn't mind and had a lovely couple of hours..nice little place and very lovely bar staff , This is the version of our website addressed to speakers of English in the United States. Are the prices at this restaurant mid-range / moderate? We have to hurry ( which I found stressful).. We ordered two Margherita pizzas for the children from the kids menu and one vegetarian pizza , all topped with vegan cheese. On 31st May 2014 The price was corrected , the bill paid and we left . The pub is situated on a sharp bend in the main road between Twickenham and Richmond and opposite Marble Hill Park, it looks as if an attempt has been made to restore the original exterior brown tiling which looks to have been recklessly rendered over at some point, sadly it looks beyond repair. Located near the entrance to Marble Hill House, this thoroughly refurbished pub stands out due to its white paint scheme. Tv was off but the Rugby World Cup was advertised as you might expect around these parts. Good choice of beers from four handpumps: Shere Drop, Andwell Resolute, Oakham Citra and Thornbridge Wye (£3.60). Vegetarian pizza not only smelled and tasted bad but it was so tasteless that not even salt and black pepper that we added made it better. On 21st March 2018 It would be great to hear from the manager /owner !More, Dear Diana Are the prices at this restaurant mid-range / moderate? I ended up sitting outside ! We are disgusted and the kids were let down. The waitress came again and took drinks order ( one lager and one small white wine spritzer). When I asked if we could have a reduction on the price of the kids meal they went away and came back to say that they did, in fact, have mango sorbet. It was embarrassing to walk in and basically be told to leave. If you are at an office or shared network, you can ask the network administrator to run a scan across the network looking for misconfigured or infected devices. Again we had to make a complaint to get the charge removed.I am sorry for this bad review, but it is made in the hope that things can improve as we have enjoyed the Alba previously. Again, another completely new crew... Staff seem to change faster than... Food was hit and miss - in quality and ingredients (random variations), service, while friendly, was completely overwhelmed by half empty restaurant. The Rising Sun, formerly The Alba, is (was) a bit of a regular local restaurant for us. Families enjoy our relaxed atmosphere, grown-ups come for the live music and keg and cask beers, ales and lagers, while the terrace is for everyone to enjoy when the sun shines. At that moment the waitress came over and told us there’s only one chef in the kitchen and the kitchen was about to close at 8pm. On the picturesque harbour of St Mawes, with views of the Roseland Peninsula and beyond, The Rising Sun has an outdoor seating area, restaurant, bar, free parking and free Wi-Fi. Since then it’s been hit and miss, mainly miss. Inside there is a bright and airy stripped out room with the standard issue boarded floor, a greyish blue lower wall wainscoting and white upper walls and ceiling. If you are on a personal connection, like at home, you can run an anti-virus scan on your device to make sure it is not infected with malware. I'm sorry to hear this happened i will speak to the restaurant manager and look into it further. Thanks. A large open to view kitchen complete with a pizza oven indicates the pub's direction, half the area of the single room has set tables however drinkers are encouraged too and the beer range was rather good. Is The Rising Sun currently accepting bookings? Can a vegan person get a good meal at this restaurant? I am sorry but on this occasion we had a bad experience at Alba. 277-279 Richmond Road East Twickenham TW1 2NP, Copyright © 2005-2020 St Margarets Community Website Some rights reserved CC BY-ND 4.0. Reasonable selection of keg beers and bottled beers as well. This was mainly due to the charming service and great Italian food. Nice touch with the take away beers and wine so we could go and sit on the beach...More. We offer traditional pub food along with Real Ale served in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Rich, This pub used to be our much loved regular place for drinks and food. Order on Deliveroo today! If people are vegetarian or vegan , this is their personal choice, but please don’t feed them rubbish food that would make them sick! Not what I had in mind when I made a reservation for three . Don't be mislead by the menu on the website. Located opposite Marble Hill Park, close to both Richmond and St Margarets station. Good selection of beers.btw, when are you going to take the 2+ year old menu off the OpenTable listing?!? The staff were lovely and we really should have by passed the misery of the Zetland. With a wide selection of craft beers, fine wines and carefully crafted cocktail menu. Pizzas have fallen in quality and the menu never...changes and there is a weird smell that won’t go away. The staff couldn't have been more efficient and the often repeated orders for Pizzas were quickly met, despite the rest of the pub being pretty busy....The quality of the Pizza was really excellent. Some nice touches, a framed rugby shirt, metal Camp Coffee ad, some nice drawings of the Thames riverside plus a stack of board games and the daily papers. The best local restaurants and takeaways are here to deliver. After having a dreadful experience at the Zetland Arms where the staff made our party feel unwelcome and appalled (even the kids with us were appalled!!!!) This would have been fine, but the staff then added them to the bill for a total of £4.80 when they were supposed to have been inclusive with the meal. When we received the bill we also were not given the option to remove the service charge as it definitely did not deserve a 12.5% tip. The place was almost empty, but it's cosy enough. Continue your visit to www.tripadvisor.co.uk, Cliffe Road, Kingsdown, Deal CT14 8AH England. The service is still hit and mostly miss. That was the good old days. But last night we popped in on our way home and found a friendly experienced staff (Matt). Next time, we'll try a busy evening. After ‘Alba’ failed , the place was renamed to ‘ The Rising Sun’ under a new management / new owners with nicely refurbished interior. A classic local pub with a modern twist.
